In 1982 Diane Marrucca and her husband, Jimmy, opened Jimmy’s Restaurant on Asbury Avenue in Asbury Park. “We were operating a successful wholesale produce business right around the corner. We were tired of going to New York for a good meal, so we decided to buy Freddie’s Restaurant and Pizzeria,” she explains.
Diane and her late husband, Jimmy, wanted to keep it small. "We wanted to use quality, fresh ingredients and prepare meals to order; nothing frozen, nothing pre-made. You couldn’t get that around
here.” Jimmy’s was a success from the day the doors first opened. Although the decor has changed on several occasions, the quality of food has remained consistant. It’s a family atmosphere at
Jimmy’s, where the customers feel like family. Most of the staff has been there since day one.
Diane along with daughter Kim, son James and loyal staff work very hard to keep Jimmy’s a success and make Jimmy’s a place “Where good friends meet”.
The Marrucca Family recently purchased Joe's Farm Market and Garden Center at 307 W. Sylvania Ave., in Nepune, NJ. Diane invites everyone to stop by for the best in local seasonal produce, plants, decorations, and everything you need to make your garden and grounds beautiful!
